Product Description
Model RC-1 delayer is installed in wet systems with fluctuating water supply pressure (e.g., public water systems) to prevent system false alarms caused by fluctuating water supply pressure. When the nozzle action, stable and continuous water flow into the sprinkler system network, the wet alarm valve valve plate opens, the water flow from the valve alarm port to the throttle assembly inlet throttle holes (aperture 5.6mm), part of the water flow from the throttle assembly outlet throttle holes (aperture 3.2mm) out of the rest of the water flow to the time-delay chamber filled with water. When the time delay chamber is filled, the outflow of water causes the hydraulic alarm and/or water pressure alarm switch to operate, and the alarm continues as long as the valve plate is open until the valve plate is closed.
In a water supply system with fluctuating water supply pressure, an instantaneous rise in water supply pressure causes the valve plate to open, and water flows out of the alarm port, which does not immediately alarm due to the buffering effect of the time delay chamber. When the instantaneous fluctuating pressure drops, the valve plate closes and the water in the delayer chamber is discharged through the outlet throttling holes of the throttling assembly.
