FM certified valve position indicator column
Product Description
Tyco Fire Suppression and Building Products offers a range of FM approved, adjustable, vertical position indicator posts for use on DN100 to DN300 dimple stem resilient seated PIV gate valves for buried applications. The posts are typically used on gate valves that close clockwise, but can also be used on gate valves that close counterclockwise if required.
Buried valves are commonly used in fire protection systems to control the water supply to fire sprinklers, water spray sprinkler systems, foam sheet sprinkler systems, or standpipe systems. Vertical Valve Position Indicator Columns are designed to allow gate valves to be actuated from the ground while indicating the open and closed status of the valve. They also provide tools that can lock the valve to avoid unauthorized operation.
Tyco Valve Position Indicator Posts feature a telescoping stem that can be adjusted to its mounting position. The appropriate type of indicator post is selected based on the valve size and trench depth and can be chosen using the formula: Length (D) = Trench Depth (A) - Pipe O.D./2 - Valve Height (B)
