RF II series K=80 fast/standard response, standard coverage hidden pendant sprinkler head
Product Description
The RFII Series Fast Response (3mm glass bubble) and Standard Response (5mm glass bubble), K=80 Concealed Sag Spray Heads feature the flat cover disk of the Concealed Spray Heads to give the spray head a decorative look. This nozzle is the best choice for architecturally sensitive areas such as hotel porches, office buildings, churches and restaurants.
The series consists of a sprinkler head, a cover disk assembly that conceals the sprinkler head action element within the suspended ceiling, and a disposable plastic protective cap. The detachable two-piece decorative disk has a vertical adjustment of 12.7 mm, which reduces the cutting accuracy required for connecting the sprinkler head stubs.The RFII series sprinkler heads are shipped with a disposable plastic cap to protect the sprinkler head during renovation. The center of the drilled hole can be marked on the roofing material by lightly pressing the roofing material against the tip of the cap. Once the roofing is complete, the cap is removed and the cover plate assembly is installed.
As an option, the RFII Series Standard Response (5mm glass bubble) Concealed Sag Nozzle is available with a silicone airtight dust seal (see Figure 5). The airtight dust seal is used to block the flow of air and dust from the upper ceiling space through the cover disk to the sensitive area below the ceiling.
ACTION: After a fire, the cover disk is heated, the three solder joints welded by fusible alloy melt, the cover disk falls off, and the splash disk on the guide pin drops to the working position. The liquid in the glass bubble is subjected to thermal expansion. When the nominal operating temperature is reached, the glass bubble bursts and the nozzle sprinkles.
RFII Series Concealed Drop Spray Heads are only certified with RFII Series Concealed Cover Plates that have a metal finish or white paint finish.
NOTE: RFII Series spray heads should not be used in locations where the air pressure at the top of the ceiling is greater than at the bottom of the ceiling. The downward airflow through the support cups will slow down the action time of the printhead in a fire condition. Fusible alloy solders have very low strength and should be installed with care. Improper stress on the cover disk can crack the solder joints and cause the disk to fall off.
