The fire alarm system plays a significant role in buildings, and the fire protection module is also an important component of the fire alarm system. The fire protection module can be roughly divided into input module, output module, input-output module, isolation module, relay module, switching module, multi line control module, and so on. Below, the editor will briefly introduce the functions of each module.
1. Input module
The input module is used to receive signal inputs and treat the input equipment as part of the fire alarm system. Some manufacturers refer to it as a relay module. According to the different input signals, the input module can be divided into two types: switch input and analog input.
The switch input is to receive a passive contact signal, which is input into the system. The general input module can be used to receive alarm and feedback signals from devices such as water flow indicators, pressure switches, signal valves, etc; Due to the differences in communication protocols among devices from different manufacturers in the fire protection system, devices from different manufacturers need to be easily connected to the network through this method. Currently, there is one input module on the market that can only receive normally open signal inputs, while others can receive normally open or normally closed signal inputs through parameter settings. There are also dual input modules, multiple input modules, and so on.
Analog input modules are generally used to receive current or voltage signals. When a manufacturer's non coding detector alarms, the output is the current signal used to connect to the manufacturer's addressing interface module and input it into the system.
2. Output module
The output module is used to control the start stop or switching of certain devices, and does not receive signal inputs. It is generally used to control devices without signal feedback, such as broadcasting, sound and light alarms, alarm bells, and so on.
3. Input/output module
The input and output module, also known as a control module in some situations, can output signals or provide a switch signal when there are control requirements to activate the controlled equipment. At the same time, it can receive feedback signals from the equipment to report to the host. It is an important component of the fire alarm linkage system. The input and output modules on the market can provide a pair of passive normally open/normally closed contacts to control the controlled equipment. Some manufacturers can set the modules to active output through parameter settings, corresponding to dual input and output modules, multiple input and output modules, and so on.
4. Relay module
Relay modules are generally used to extend the communication distance of the bus and enhance the anti-interference ability of the system when the communication distance is too far.
5. Isolation module
The isolation module (also known as the bus isolator) is connected to the front end protection circuit of the system bus. In the event of a short circuit or other fault, the part connected to the back end is isolated from the system, so as not to cause the entire system to malfunction. After repairing the faulty part of the circuit, the isolator can resume operation on its own.
6. Switching modules
The switching module is used to connect the input/output module and the high current controlled equipment, playing a protective role, which is equivalent to a relay.
7. Multi line module
Multi line modules are sometimes referred to as switching modules, used to connect multi line direct control points and controlled equipment.
The fire protection module is the bridge of the fire alarm system and plays a crucial role. With the increasing attention to fire safety, the application of modules will become more and more extensive, and their functions will also become more and more perfect.
