Siemens FS720: What are the fire protection standards for mall store decoration
A shopping mall is a place with a high flow of people, and a fire in the mall is a very serious matter. Therefore, when decorating a shopping mall, we need to meet the fire protection standards. Below, Siemens FS720 manufacturer will tell you what the fire protection standards are for shopping mall store decoration
Improve the fire resistance rating
1. The fire resistance rating of the building in the shopping mall business hall should generally not be lower than level two.
2. The ceiling and other decorative materials inside the shopping mall should be strictly controlled and combustible materials are not allowed to be used. The suspended ceiling should use light steel keel, and the decorative materials must be non combustible, fire resistant, qualified, and approved for sale, as well as insulation and thermal insulation materials.
3. Existing combustible wooden structures, steel frame structures with lower fire resistance limits, as well as combustible suspended ceilings, must be renovated to improve their fire resistance limits. Fireproof coatings or thermal insulation materials can be sprayed or applied on steel roof trusses and columns.
4. The shelves and counters in the mall should be made of a combination of metal frames and glass panels. The outer side of the counter should be sealed with the ground. If there are gaps, they need to be sealed with non combustible materials to prevent customers from littering cigarette butts, entering the counter, and igniting combustible materials thrown onto the ground.
Pay attention to layout and separation
1. As a public place, the area occupied by customers in shopping malls should be carefully considered. At present, there are no clear regulations in this regard in the country, but based on the actual situation and referring to foreign experience, the following requirements should be met:
(1) Counters and shelves should have an appropriate proportion of the public area occupied by customers. Comprehensive large or multi story shopping malls should generally not be less than 1:1.5, and smaller shopping malls should have a minimum of not less than 1:1.
(2) When arranging counter groups, the distance between groups should not be less than 3m.
(3) The public area occupied by customers should be calculated based on the average flow of customers during peak hours, and the per capita occupied area should not be less than 0.4m2.
2. For large shopping malls with an area exceeding 1000m2, according to the requirements of high-rise buildings, fire partition measures should be taken, that is, every 1000m2 should be divided into zones, and fire resistant rolling shutters with a fire resistance limit of no less than 1.2 hours should be added between zones for separation; When an automatic sprinkler system is installed in a shopping mall, the area limit of the fire compartment can be doubled, which does not exceed 2000m2.
3. For the holes that connect the upper and lower floors of existing elevators, staircases, and escalators, if fire-resistant enclosure structures are added and it is difficult to install fire doors for sealing, water curtains or automatic sprinkler heads with increased distance (installed every 1.8m in length) can be installed on these vertical hole openings for protection.
It should be clarified that the concept of requiring large public buildings to be equipped with automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing systems in the world has evolved from the original purpose of timely extinguishing fires to reduce property damage, to more importantly, protecting human life, including the safety of firefighters entering and extinguishing fires.
4. Small transit warehouses in shopping malls should be set up separately from the business hall. When opened unconditionally, firewall separation should be applied.
Code for Fire Protection Design of Shopping Mall (III) Safety Evacuation
Given that shopping malls are the most densely populated public places, safety evacuation needs to be given special attention.
1. The entrances and exits of public places such as cinemas and sports venues are separated, and the exits are specifically designed for safe evacuation during the end of the event. A shopping mall is different, as it combines the entrance and exit into one door, serving as both the entrance gate and the evacuation channel for the mall. Based on this characteristic, the doors of shopping malls should focus on the issue of safe evacuation. Doors should not only have sufficient quantity, but also be evenly arranged in multiple directions.
2. The doors of shopping malls should not only consider the convenience of customer entry and exit, but also the need for safe evacuation. Therefore, it is not advisable to set up revolving doors, spring doors, etc. that affect customer entry and exit and safe evacuation. If a revolving door is installed, a safety evacuation door for the equipment must be installed next to it.
3. The minimum width index for shopping mall stairs and corridors is calculated based on the standard of 0.85m/100 people on the first and second floors, 0.77m/100 people on the third floor, and 0.6m/100 people on the fourth floor.
