Fire alarm system acceptance and how to repair faults
1、 How to inspect the automatic fire alarm system
(1) The fire alarm system and fire control equipment installed inside the building must be debugged and opened normally, and can only be delivered for use after passing the acceptance by the public security fire supervision agency.
(2) System acceptance should be a comprehensive acceptance. During the acceptance, a comprehensive acceptance should be carried out for the automatic fire alarm equipment, various fire control equipment, as well as fire accident lighting and evacuation indicator lights.
(3) Before acceptance, the construction unit shall formally submit an application for acceptance report to the local public security fire supervision agency after the completion of the fire equipment, and submit the following technical materials:
① Fill out the system completion status form;
② Construction drawings and technical data related to firefighting equipment;
③ Technical records of concealed engineering installation;
④ Debugging and activation report;
⑤ Registration form for management, operation, and maintenance personnel.
(4) During system acceptance. Fire supervision agencies should first conduct a construction quality review of fire equipment, and the review results should comply with relevant regulations. During the review, the fire supervision agency can also work together with the local construction quality supervision department. Projects that have not undergone construction quality review or have not addressed the issues raised during the review shall not undergo functional acceptance.
(5) Before the system acceptance, the construction unit must equip management and maintenance personnel. For projects that have not been equipped with specialized training and qualified management and maintenance personnel, the public security fire supervision agency will not accept them.
(6) After the construction quality inspection is qualified, the fire supervision agency shall conduct spot checks and acceptance of the system functions. The spot checks and results of various fire equipment shall comply with the provisions of the fire alarm system installation and use specifications for system function spot checks and acceptance.
2、 The most common faults of fire alarm systems and how to repair them
(1) Main power failure. Check if the input power supply is intact, and if the fuse is burnt or has poor contact.
(2) Backup power failure. Check if the charging device and battery are damaged, and if there are any broken wires in the wiring.
(3) Detect circuit failure. Check whether the wiring from the circuit to the fire detector is intact, whether the fire detector has been removed by someone, and whether the terminal monitor is damaged.
(4) Misreporting of fire alarm. It is necessary to investigate whether there are any environmental disturbances such as steam and dust that may affect the normal operation of fire detectors on site due to false alarms. If there is any interference, efforts should be made to eliminate it. Century Star recommends that fire detectors with frequent false alarms and no other interference that affects normal operation should be replaced in a timely manner.
(5) Any faults that cannot be eliminated temporarily should be immediately notified to the relevant professional maintenance unit in order to repair them as soon as possible and restore normal operation.
How to maintain the fire alarm system?
The fire alarm system is composed of triggering devices, fire alarm devices, fire alarm devices, and other auxiliary functional devices. It is a powerful tool for people to fight against fires. So how should the fire alarm system be maintained?
1. The functions of the alarm controller (such as fire alarm, fault, reset, noise reduction, etc.) should be checked daily to ensure they are normal and in automatic operation mode, and a system operation log should be filled out.
2. Every quarter, the alarm control equipment should be tested and inspected for its linkage control and display functions with relevant systems, such as indoor fire hydrant systems, automatic sprinkler systems, normally open fire doors and windows, fire rolling shutter doors, ventilation and air conditioning systems, smoke exhaust systems, emergency lighting and evacuation signage systems, non fire power cuts, elevator emergency landings, etc. Conduct 1-2 discharge tests on the backup power source and 1-3 automatic switching tests between the main and backup power sources.
3. Conduct a functional inspection and test on all fire detectors and fire accident announcements annually using specialized instruments.
After two years of use, the fire detector should be thoroughly cleaned every three years.
