Wire selection for fire alarm systems
To ensure the safe, stable, and reliable operation of the system, it is necessary to install and wiring correctly. The wires should meet electrical and safety requirements, and the wiring should be firm and reliable. The wire selection for the fire alarm system is as follows:
1. Signal bus
• Wire type: Multi stranded copper insulated twisted pair dual color flame-retardant flexible wire RVS-2 × 1.0
Core cross-sectional area ≥ 1.0mm2
Maximum transmission distance: 2000 meters
Due to the better anti-interference performance of twisted pair wires compared to parallel wires, in order to ensure the reliable operation of the system, twisted pair wires must be used for the signal bus.
2. 24V power cord
• Wire type: Multi stranded copper insulated twisted pair dual color flame-retardant flexible wire RVS-2 × 2.5
The cross-sectional area of the wire core is ≥ 2.5mm2 (the specific cross-sectional area of the wire can be determined according to the actual situation)
• Longest transmission distance: related to the cross-sectional area of the wire and the size of the load
The cross-sectional area of a 24V power line should be selected based on the specific load current, wire length, and the minimum operating voltage requirements of the controlled equipment.
In practical engineering, the working current of electromagnetic valve equipment such as fire dampers and smoke exhaust valves is relatively high. For equipment controlled by different input/output modules, sequential delayed start can be achieved through programming to avoid peak current impact. If there are multiple solenoid valves controlled by an input/output module or the current is high, a wire with a larger cross-sectional area should be selected.
The working current of combustible gas detectors is relatively high, and the diameter of the 24V power line should be large enough. If necessary, multiple power lines or distributed power supply should be adopted.
3. Multi line linkage control line
• Wire type: Multi stranded copper insulated twisted pair dual color flame-retardant flexible wire RVS-2 × 1.0
Core cross-sectional area ≥ 1.0mm2
Maximum transmission distance: 1000 meters
4. Serial communication bus
• Wire type: Copper core insulated sheath shielded twisted pair dual color flexible wire RVVPS-2 × 1.0
Core cross-sectional area ≥ 1.0mm2
Maximum transmission distance: 1200 meters
5. Fire broadcasting line
• Wire type: Multi stranded copper insulated twisted pair dual color flame-retardant flexible wire RVS-2 × 1.5
Core cross-sectional area ≥ 1.5mm2
Maximum transmission distance: 1000 meters
6. Fire telephone line
• Wire type: Multi stranded copper insulated twisted pair dual color flame-retardant flexible wire RVS-2 × 1.5
Core cross-sectional area ≥ 1.5mm2
Maximum transmission distance: 1000 meters
