Specification for installation height and spacing of manual alarm buttons for fire alarm systems
The setting of manual fire alarm buttons in the fire alarm system, as stated in Article 8.3.1 of this specification, "... The distance from any position within a fire compartment to the nearest manual fire alarm button should not exceed 30m...". In Article 24.5.4.1 of the "Code for Electrical Design of Civil Buildings" JGJ/T16-92, it is stipulated that "... the walking distance should not be greater than 25 meters." There are some discrepancies in the expression and numbers of distance between the two specifications in the article, but the author believes that there is not much contradiction. The standard stipulates that it should not be greater than 25 meters. In the design, we generally control the setting distance of the manual fire alarm button to be around 25 meters, which is the recommended distance in the standard. The current GB0116-98 national standard should not exceed 30m. The maximum distance required during design should not exceed 30m, which is the upper limit value. So the author believes that the implementation of that specification in the design should not exceed 25m, and it should also be within the range of not exceeding 30m. Not contradictory. Of course, if there is a contradiction between the two specifications, the current national standard GB50116-98 should be followed.
The "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Automatic Fire Alarm Systems" states that manual alarm buttons should be installed in obvious and easy to operate locations. When installed on the wall, the height of the bottom edge from the ground (floor) should be 1.3~1.5m
The installation height of the manual fire alarm button for the fire alarm system is 1.3-1.5 meters;
At least one manual alarm button should be installed in each fire compartment. The distance from any location within a fire compartment to the nearest manual alarm button should not exceed 30m. The manual fire alarm button should be installed at the entrance and exit of public activity areas.
Each fire compartment should be equipped with at least one manual alarm device, which should be located near the staircase exit in the corridors of each floor. The alarm device should be controlled manually or automatically.
Installation height of manual fire alarm button for fire alarm system
1、 The manual fire alarm button should be installed firmly without any obvious looseness.
2、 The manual fire alarm button should have prominent signs, and when installed on the wall, the height from the ground should be 1.3-1.5m.
3、 The wiring margin inside the manual fire alarm button should not be less than 10cm.
4、 At least one manual fire alarm button should be installed in each fire compartment. The walking distance from any position within a fire compartment to the nearest manual fire alarm button should not exceed 30 meters and should be installed in a location that is convenient for personnel to operate.
Specification for spacing between manual fire alarm buttons in fire alarm systems
1. Each fire compartment should be equipped with at least one manual fire alarm button. The distance from any location within a fire compartment to the nearest manual fire alarm button should not exceed 30m. The manual fire alarm button should be installed at the entrance and exit of public activity areas.
2. The manual fire alarm button should be located in a prominent and easy to operate location. When installed on the wall, the bottom edge should be 1.3-1.5m above the ground and should have clear markings.
The above is an introduction to the installation height and spacing specifications of manual fire alarm buttons. I believe everyone should also have a better understanding of manual fire alarm buttons. I hope everyone can install them in a more standardized manner, so as to effectively prevent the spread of fire.
